Collection explained: Integrated Form
Last week in this series, and it's the collection where the mandala stops being purely abstract: Integrated Form.
Of all my pieces these are the ones I plan most ahead, but even on these the main mandala design is always done in the moment.
When you look, you see:
Recognizable forms worked directly into the structure -florals, familiar shapes- drawn as part of the pattern itself, not layered on top of it afterward. All the same language is still there (line, repetition, symmetry), it's just speaking through something familiar this time.
These pieces are grounded through nature and symbolism, but they're still built on the same structure and balance as everything else I make. It's a more literal doorway in — for anyone who doesn't have the vocabulary yet for abstract pattern, a flower or a moon gives them somewhere to start.
Held in Moonlight and Rooted Bloom are two easy entry points — one lunar, one floral.
